Slug to Butterfly

This is my first Blog Posting without supervision at my shoulder. Anyone who comes across this Blog should know that it will be wiped out of cosmic memory the best I am able when I'm finally ready to let another set of eyes on its next incarnation, which will eventually evolve from this slug into a butterfly... but until then, just send prayers! First problem: where did the rest of my toolbar choices disappear to? eg Font Choices...

  1. BTW: any mixed metaphors are to be ignored for now.

  2. Dawn, I should have put these instructions here, rather than on my blog. Click on the "compose" upper tab on the new post and all your fonts, colors, and paragraph styles become available. Yes, it's very difficult blogging when you don't know what the hell you're doing. I'm learning all the time. I have several new things that I have to teach myself: adding a link to each post, so that it collapses; having each title show up separately, underneath each "label" and many, many more things. You made it so easy to have me join as your follower. Thanks. I don't have that facility on my blog. Or, perhaps I don't realize I do. Thanks for your compliments on mine. Really, it's just like I have my new therapist sitting right next to me and letting me get all this nervous, incredibly fractured energy out. My son started up my bog and my domain as a present. Can't wait until you start blogging regularly. For now, I must leave and do a "little" cleanup here and keep away from the ever-luring screen.

Dawn, you wouldn't believe the convoluted steps I had to take in order to comment on your blog. I had to use both pcs for some reason. I've got a lot to learn. Or, grow another set of arms for the 2nd pc.

  3. Oh, Conchi, No! Don't grow any extra arms or you will be expected to get the housework done. Better to forego the 2nd PC...
RE your comment: "I have several new things that I have to teach myself: adding a link to each post, so that it collapses; having each title show up separately, underneath each "label" and many, many more things." WHAT?!?! I have no idea what these things are and I think I'll be collapsing instead of my Posts if I have to add links to collapse them...

  4. As you can see, I haven't left the blog/pc. No, there's no danger of having cleaned my apartment. It didn't happen. Adding a link to posts? No, don't collapse. You don't have to do it. But it might be nice, I don't know. I might add it and then not like it. This causes the post text to collapse, so that you only see the title of the post, thereby being able to scroll the titles to decide what bit of nonsense you might want to read about. The indented titles under each label might be a nice touch (sort of like a sub-table of contents). I got an answer from the gurus on the title post, but they did not know how to do the "indented titles under labels." Maybe there is no way.

Anyway, I MUST run. I'm going zydeco dancing to a favorite and beloved band (Red Stick Ramblers) that is coming up to NYC from Lafayette, La. Then after, if I can scrunch it in, I want to run into Brooklyn to hear my son perform with a band he just started performing with. It's icy outside (snowed yesterday), so I have to prepare.

Bye. Have fun. Take some time away from the blog and Face Book, or else you may have a multitude of old and new friends showing up at your door.

  5. Hey, maybe I will organize an Inter-Class Reunion since my Alumni Asso missed our 40th last year... oooh!-ooooh!....

NOW I REMEMBER why I first decided to look at your Blog... What caught my eye in your profile Interests is Dancing and West Coast Swing! You're in NYC and can WCS? I can barely find anyone out here on the West! Coast who knows what it is or how it's different from ECS, much less will take me dancing to teach me or is willing to partner with me at lessons; tho' yes, first I should settle in one state or the other before starting Lessons again. *sigh* Made that mistake in Las Vegas when first started caring for Mom after Dad died in 2006. To keep sane I started dancing every night just down the road at a studio that Sponsors and even teaches to Dancing With The Stars contestants. The various group Ballroom and Latin and Technique classes were great for me as a quick-learn n' good-follow Beginner. But then I went back home to AZ and never got my 3 FREE Private Lessons. I wonder if the Studio would honor them if I blew thru town overnight n' stopped in... or pull out the fine-print?

Have Fun! I love Queen Ida and the Buckwheat Zydeco Band. Not familiar w/ others by name, but it makes me jump n' wiggle like ah's got th' Spirit movin' through me at Sunday Meetin'...

  6. Yes, live in NYC and dance the WCS. I don know. I just do (since '93). I never tire of it. Yes, you should get out the print and get those private lessons. Although, I'm pretty much a street dancer. Look at it, decide "I can do that!" and then go try it. My motto? Pretend to be drunk when you dance, but don't be. Then dance like no one's watching. Had a great time at the cajun dance last night. My little lovies (Red Stick Rambers, from Lafayett, La.) were wonderful, as usual. And a great friently crowd (all dancing). Met a stage hand for Lincoln Center. Really nice people. Never made it to hear Trevor's gig. But, later found out the establishment finked out. So, all's well.

  7. Talking about dancing and cajun, I've gotten into my head that I want to go to Louisiana. Either to the Jazz Fest, French Quarter Fest, and/or Intl Fest in Lafayette. Have a woman (Mindy) who took 1/3 of my job over (after I just refused to do it any longer and have them pound me into the ground) interested in joining me. And, Trevor's interested. So, I'm in research mode. Mindy wants to drive, in order to save $$. 22 Hours???? I really don't want to do that if I don't have to. Also, have to thank you for putting gentle and caring pressure on me to produce more posts. Published one last night at 4:30am and am working on another. Since I finished those few days of vacation, during which I blogged non-stop, and got back to work, it has been difficult. You certainly are a kindred spirit. It's great. Bye now!
